Our Services
Yoga is not one-size-fits-all. Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time, recovering from an injury, preparing for motherhood, or bringing wellness into your workplace, Yoga Omah Joglo offers a program built around where you are.
The Research
A study published in the journal Spine found that people with back pain who practiced yoga twice a week for 24 weeks experienced a 56% reduction in pain, along with less disability and depression, compared to standard care. Harvard Health Publishing also reports a growing body of research linking regular yoga practice to improved heart health, better sleep, and reduced anxiety and depression.

Before Your First Class
No experience needed, and no equipment to buy. Just come in comfortable clothing; we provide mats and props. New students are asked to confirm their first class via WhatsApp beforehand, so we can make sure there's space and match you with the right session.

Regular Yoga
Who it's for: Anyone starting out or building a consistent practice, from complete beginners to those who've practiced for years.
What to expect: Our regular classes currently run as mixed-level sessions: beginners and more advanced practitioners attend the same class, and teachers adjust instruction, modifications, and props individually for each student, in line with the Iyengar approach. Level-specific classes (separated by beginner, intermediate, and advanced) are also being introduced.
Benefits: Improved alignment and posture, increased strength and flexibility, and a steadier, more attentive mind, built gradually and safely through consistent practice.

Yoga for Fitness
Who it's for: Those who want yoga primarily as physical training: building strength, flexibility, mobility, and balance, rather than a slower or more meditative pace.
What to expect: A more physically demanding class structure, still grounded in Iyengar alignment principles, so strength is built correctly rather than at the expense of form.
Benefits: Better functional movement, injury prevention, and physical resilience that carries over into daily life and other sports.

Corporate & Community Programs
Bring your team out of the office.
Not another meeting room. Not another fitness studio. A joglo, a garden, and time to breathe.
Who it's for: Companies, teams, and organizations looking for something beyond the usual office wellness perk, an actual change of environment, not just an activity squeezed into a conference room.
What makes this different: The value isn't yoga alone, it's yoga combined with the Joglo, open air, and garden setting: an environment your team can't get inside the office, no matter how good the office is. This is a space designed for people to genuinely step away, breathe, and reconnect, not a class that happens to be labeled "corporate."
Formats available:
- One-off sessions or recurring programs
- Tailored to group size and occasion
- Held at Yoga Omah Joglo, on-site at your office, or hybrid
- Can be combined with workshops or other activities where appropriate
Why teams choose this:
- Connection. Practicing together, away from the usual office routine, builds trust and camaraderie in a way meetings don't.
- Wellbeing. Regular movement and breathing help employees manage stress and stay healthier.
- Focus. A reset away from screens means people come back sharper, not just relaxed.
Backed by research: workplace yoga has been shown to meaningfully reduce employee stress, and shared team rituals like this have been linked to a measurable increase in how employees value their own work.
The Harvard Business School finding relates to shared team rituals generally, not yoga specifically, cited here because the same principle of shared, recurring activity applies.

Benefits: Targeted relief and gradual correction for the specific issue you're working on.

Special Classes
Who it's for: Regular students and newcomers alike who want to mark significant moments, cultural or spiritual, through practice.
What to expect: Themed sessions held around Indonesia's major holidays: New Year, Imlek, Indonesian Independence Day, Nyepi, and religious celebrations. Our Nyepi class centers on Yoga and Contemplation, in keeping with the day's spirit of stillness and reflection. Schedule: on appointment basis.

Yoga for Seniors
Who it's for: Older adults who want a practice suited to their pace, without feeling out of place next to younger, faster-moving students.
What to expect: Currently, senior students join our Regular Yoga classes, with teachers adjusting instruction, pace, and props individually. A dedicated Yoga for Seniors class is also being introduced.
Why it matters: It's well documented that inactivity in older age accelerates the loss of mobility, strength, and independence. Regular, appropriate movement is one of the simplest ways to slow that decline.
Benefits:
- Balance and fall prevention, reducing one of the most common causes of serious injury in older age
- Joint mobility and flexibility, keeping everyday movement easier and less painful
- Muscle memory and strength retention, helping the body hold on to coordination and physical capability
- Mental sharpness and agility, through movement that requires focus and body awareness
- General fitness and vitality, supporting a more active, independent daily life
The Research
A pilot study at a U.S. retirement community found that a 12-week yoga program improved balance and reduced fear of falling among older adults. A more recent controlled study among adults aged 65 to 85 found significant improvements in balance and functional mobility, along with reduced anxiety and depression, after a structured 12-week yoga program.

These describe general, well-established benefits of staying active in older age; not a medical claim specific to any individual.

Studio Rental

Set within a joglo house, open to garden and open air, the studio offers an environment that's difficult to find elsewhere in Jakarta, and it comes equipped, not empty.
What's included:
- Joglo setting, open-air and garden environment
- Yoga props (blocks, straps, bolsters) and mats
- Sound system
- Television for presentations, suitable for seminars and workshops
Proven by use, not just available on paper. Prenatal Yoga
This is a newer program at Yoga Omah Joglo. Please read the details below carefully before booking.
Who it's for: Pregnant students at a stage of pregnancy appropriate for gentle movement. We ask all prospective students to confirm their trimester and any relevant medical notes with us beforehand, and to have clearance from their obstetrician.
What to expect: A slower-paced class adapted specifically for pregnancy, with modifications for each trimester.
Benefits: Reduced pregnancy-related discomfort, better body awareness, and breathing techniques that can support labor.
The Research
A 2025 meta-analysis of 14 randomized controlled trials (3,637 women) found that prenatal yoga was associated with significantly lower rates of cesarean section, higher rates of spontaneous vaginal birth, and shorter labor times compared to standard care. A separate 2025 randomized trial found similarly lower rates of in-labor cesarean and higher spontaneous vaginal birth among women who practiced yoga during pregnancy.

This reflects average outcomes across study groups, not a guarantee for any individual pregnancy. Always consult your doctor before starting or continuing any exercise program during pregnancy.
Yoga for Conception
This is also a newer program. Please contact us directly to discuss your situation before your first session.
Who it's for: Those preparing for pregnancy who want a supportive practice combining movement, relaxation, and breathwork. This is a wellness practice, not a fertility treatment.
What to expect: A gentle, low-intensity class focused on relaxation and stress reduction.
Benefits: Lower stress levels and a supportive space during a period that can otherwise feel isolating or pressured.
The Research
Yoga is not a fertility treatment, and no specific pose has been shown to increase the chance of conception directly. What research does support is yoga's role in managing the stress that often accompanies fertility journeys: a mind-body program studied by researchers at Harvard Medical School found notably higher pregnancy rates among women who completed a structured stress-reduction program before IVF, compared to those who didn't.

Yoga for Conception is a wellness practice and does not replace medical fertility treatment.
